Zimbabwe Import And Export Hack

This is one big hack for the new start-up or the small business who wants to import or export. I will just walk you through the process and requirements for the exporter.

 It is easier for a company to import or export than for an individual. My advice is for an entity to register and comply with regulations.

Here are the requirements for an import or export licence or permit. An application letter should be submitted and addressed to the Secretary for Industry and Commerce. The application must state the following;


  1. Brief company profile indicating your line of business
  2. Product Description
  3. Tariff Code
  4. Quantity
  5. The purchase price per unit(for importers)
  6. Selling price per unit (for exporters)
  7. Total Value of consignment
  8. Country of origin or destination
  9. The justification for importing or exporting giving reasons why you can not source locally.          
The application must have the following copies of documents attached;
  1. Certificate of Incorporation
  2. CR14 (showing a list of company directors
  3. Tax Clearance Certificate from Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA)
  4. Copy of Standards Development Levy Receipt
  5. Proforma invoice (for imports)
